A message from the Hale Club

Covid 19

An important message from

The Hale Club Ltd

to

All members of Hertford RFC

* Whilst we remain in Tier 2 we believe the bar should remain closed due to the rules issued by the Government for pubs, bars and social clubs.

* Alcohol can only be served, indoors and outside, for those eating a substantial meal. A sandwich or baguette is not a substantial meal.

* Outside the Rule of 6 (friends and/or family) continues to apply but individuals must be seated, maximum 6 to a table, table service only and eat a substantial meal

* Inside customers must be seated and substantial meals must be served to family bubbles or individuals only with table service

* Indoors masks must be worn until seated and when visiting the toilet and entering and exiting the premises

* Upon entering the premises all persons must register their attendance

* Once meals are consumed people must leave the premises, Individuals cannot continue to sit and to drink. This applies both inside and outside

* The only exemption to these rules for sporting venues is for ticketed events at stadiums where you do not have to eat but must remain seated whilst being served an alcoholic drink. We do not believe that HRFC is such a venue

As you will appreciate these rules make it well nigh impossible for us to operate the bar. Should we be upgraded to Tier 1 at the review later this month we will reconsider the position immediately.

Kevin will continue to offer his takeaway/snack service as usual

This would not as an illegal act be covered by Directors' insurance. I would add that there are a few neighbours of the Club who would be pleased to be able to report us to the authorities should they think we are in contravention of the rules.

The Directors of HCL are all long standing members of the Rugby Club who give of their services freely and diligently and all have the interests of the Club at heart. We are fully appreciative of the efforts of the Rugby Club Board in organising the playing side and raising considerable funds that have allowed us to develop the premises and facilities. Meanwhile we will continue ensure that these facilities and premises are run in an economic and safe manner,
