Welcome to the Lane Elliot. Sorry about the frosty reception.

This week we entertain 2nd place Harpenden and introduce yet another young debutant.

This week's freshman, Elliot Mcphun, is new to the club but comes comes with an impressive pedigree.

Equally at home in either the 9 or 10 shirt, Elliot will start at fly half tomorrow.

As well as playing England counties U18s, for the last couple of seasons the 22 year old has been a regular fixture in the OA's and county XVs.

He is also performance backs coach at Oaklands college. His dynamic and up tempo style will keep defences guessing and give his team mates options to play off of.

With Elliot and the impressive young Archie Nicklin in the squad, I predict some exciting times ahead.

The inclement weather has caused some problems but, looking at the pitch condition and all the available met office information, we are confident the game will go ahead.

Credit must go to our magnificent grounds staff, Martin and his team, together with Mark Hale, Peter Grove-White, Dave Smart, Bunter and probably others I don't know about, have spent the day doing all they can to protect the turf so our 150 lunch guests and all supporters can enjoy a spectacle of rugby. Well done lads.

If the weather forces changes to the schedule we will advise on all the social media channels.

See you there, mine's a Guinness.
