As many are aware, near the end of our 1st XV league game against Tring, fullback Louis, suffered an horrific accidental lower leg injury. Both sides Physio teams and team mate Tremaine Fry (who happens to be a paramedic) were with him in seconds, and did a fantastic job in stabilising the foot prior to the arrival of the ambulance. A huge thank you from the club to all concerned.
As the picture shows, Louis looks a lot better and has sent this message.
"Following on from yesterday, the hospital confirmed I have dislocated my ankle and broken it in 3 places. The dislocation has been sorted now and today I came back for surgery to place screws and plates in, to secure the break.
I would like to thank everyone at the club for the messages they reached out to me with, as well as the people who came over when I was on the pitch (who I may have forgotten about due to the pain and shock, please forgive me)!!
I would like to especially thank Charlotte Waring and Tremaine Fry who were incredibly helpful in the lead, to stabilise my condition whilst the ambulance came (Trem may have pulled some strings to speed this up)! Thank you both, and also to the Tring Physio team who helped as well.
Joe and Lloyd, I thank you as well being there for me on the pitch whilst the trauma kicked in. Again for anyone else who supported, I thank you too.
Whilst the season will be over for me, and recovery process will be lengthy, I will still be up to watch the boys play this year and will see some familiar faces in the bar - so I will see you all then. Up the Hertford!
Louis"
Get well soon Louis. And by the way, well played.
