An overcast sky didn’t dampen the enthusiasm when 12 5-a-side mixed U16/Academy teams battled it out in five pool matches to determine who would get through to which play-offs. Well done to all the players for surviving over 60 minutes of full-on competitive touch rugby without injury!

So Team F beat Team J 4-2 in the 5th playoff and Team A beat Team L 4-3 in the 4th playoff. Team G beat Team E 5-3 for 7th overall place, and Team D beat Team K 2-1 for 5th place.

In the play off for 3rd place there was no score at half time but as the legs tired Team H edged ahead to beat Team I 2-1. This left a closely contested final. Once again there was no score at half time and it was 1-1 at the final hooter. After a quick breather the players went on again looking for that golden try for victory. Congratulations to Team B who managed a break through try to beat Team C.
