Hertford Rugby Club launched the inaugural Minis Girls Touch tournament, the first of its kind in the UK, on 2 March 2024.
With over 170 girls playing from 18 clubs from Essex, Suffolk, London, and Hertfordshire, it was an absolutely wonderful spectacle.
All teams played fantastic rugby and more importantly there were huge smiles from every girl out there playing. A big shout out to Lexi from Letchworth Garden City for winning the TREDS award.
We are incredibly grateful to all of the clubs that attended the event, particularly those that travelled some distance, such as Westcliff and Hadleigh.
A huge thank you to Ella Wyras, current England Red Rose, for being so gracious with her time and handing out the medals to each girl that played - what an idol for the girls to aspire to!
Minis Girls rugby has been on an astronomic rise at Hertford, with numbers going from 3 to 35 in the space of 2 seasons! We hope to take this momentum both county and country wide.
This event has received incredible feedback and featured in the Hertfordshire Mercury and on Heart FM?
