A cold day at the lane but a performance from Hertford to warm the cockles of any supporter’s heart .
We started going uphill against a big Datchworth team who were keen to try and show why they were 2 divisions above us in the league .
The boys though have turned a corner in recent games and held firm before opening the scoring when Louis went over under the posts .
Aaron added the extras and he was to be flawless all day from the kicking tee .
15 minutes of hard rugby ensued with both teams working hard and Benji and Fraser putting in some big hits .
A break from our own half led to Regan getting the ball in space , he put the afterburners on from inside his own half , beat 3 men down the touch line and scooted in under the sticks . Aaron did the honours and we were looking good .
Datchworth weren’t going to give up though and managed to score just before half-time and we got to oranges 14 /5 to the good .
Going down the hill was always going to help and we got off to a fast start with Aaron producing a customary hard run , breaking tackles and dotting down .
We kept up the hard work and Cody produced a deft chip behind the defence , Lenny snaffled the bouncing ball , and beat three men before going in for try number four . Aaron slotted the necessary.
Datchworth came back with another try to keep us honest but after some good forward play , Brem scored from short range .
The green machine didn’t give up and got a consolation try which hopefully calmed their coach down a touch .
A superb team performance again sprinkled with some great individual efforts and even a goose step from Max .
It’s a genuine pleasure to watch this team get better every week and they should be very proud of themselves for another terrific game .
